The story became personal as the hero inspired me to hope for the future of our great country, America. But the line, United we can make a difference, sparked something inside me. Politics and reality are not my preferred genre. I found myself wondering what importance lay behind a portrait of a child with the American flag on his face. What a grand world this could be if we had more Falcon Sanes. But as the book came to a close, I hated to say goodbye to the characters, and mourned the hope momentarily instilled for the future of our country. I laughed, cried, and cheered as our hero Falcon faced each obstacle. The pace was riveting, the tales were filled with pathos and elation, and the promise of an answer to our countries woes was plausible. The characters were unique emoting memorable voices distinctly their own, while the prose and descriptions brought the story to life. The innocent face of a child on the cover, painted to resemble the American flag, set the tone of this exquisitely told novel, and I was not disappointed as to what lay amongst its pages.
